Welcome to the Winnebago Community Historical Society
We are dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of the Winnebago, Illinois area--the Village of Winnebago, Winnebago Township, and surrounding townships. We focus on the Winnebago Town Hall, the Winnebago Area Local History Collection, local history programs, fundraising events, and community involvement.

SPONSORS & VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CEMETERY WALK
WCHS is seeking sponsors and volunteers to support the Winnebago Cemetery Walk planned for September 13, 2025 at the Winnebago Cemetery. The walk will include guided tours of the cemetery highlighting the graves and stories of six military service men buried in Winnebago Cemetery. Refreshments will also be provided.
We are looking for individual and business or organization sponsors to help offset the costs of this event. Sponsors who donate $50 or more will be listed in an interpretive booklet given to visitors and on the back of event T-shirts. They will also receive two free tickets to the event. The Winnebago Community Historical Society is a registered 501(c)3 not for profit organization.
Volunteers are needed to act as interpreters at each site on the tour (scripts provided), and to assist with parking, guest check in, refreshments, and merchandise sales. Two and four-hour shifts are available. Volunteers will receive an event T-shirt and a free ticket to the event.
